Mariannhill East Africa was created in October 20, 2006 before then it was a part of the province of Mthatha. The Unit began with recruiting young men to join the province of Mthatha, eventually with a formation house (Nivard) with the intention of training young mariannhillers for the unit of Mthatha. Given a number of resources (Colleges and Universities) in Nairobi, another house was acquired (CPC- Christ the Prophet House), setting Nivard to cater for brother confreres. East Africa has diversified to establish places of work and recruitment of the young ones to Join Mariannhill (Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi and DRC).
Christ the prophet community is the formation house of our unit. It has a number of formation programs, the junior confreres (studying either Philosophy or Theology), the postulants, and candidates.
Nivard House: This is the first Mariannhill community House (Formation House) in East Africa. As from 2001-2004 both Mariannhillers and candidates resided in this house.
The Mariannhillers were entrusted with this Parish by his Lordship, Bishop Emmanuel Okombo on 23 March 2018. Fr. Beneidict Kimutai CMM as the Parish priest assisted by Fr. Nicholas Mwiti CMM.
St Laurence Longido Parish in the Archdiocese of is Masaai dominated parish and was entrusted to the Missionaries of Mariannhill on 24 April 2016. Fr. Wenceslaus Wangila CMM was the appointed the parish priest assisted by Fr. Alex Musau CMM.
St Francis Xavier-Kidoka Parish in the Diocese of Kondoa- Tanzania was entrusted to the Missionaries of Mariannhill by His Lorship, Bishop Bernadin Mfumbusa in 2016, Fr. Michael Njenga Kimani CMM was appointed the parish priest.
St. Mary Magdalene (Kimara Mtoni)- Archdiocese of Dar Es Salaam-Tanzania
This Parish was given to the Missionaries of Mariannhill on 07 February 2017 by his Eminence Polycarp Cardinal Pengo. It was divided from the Claretian Parish of Kimara. Fr. Patrick Musumba cmm is the parish priest assisted by Fr. Daniel Mose Manoti cmm.
The Construction of Primary School in DODOMA- Tanzania
This project sprang from realization that the children in Aro in Dodoma were schooling in a cracky small building which was endangering their lives. Mariannhill in partnership with the people of ARO Village embarked in building he primary school.
